Gator's Grip Hobby Glue is made by Kenny Loup owner of Gator Paint Masks. The glue is advertised as a replacement for CA glue when working with PE. It’s a thick white glue that comes in a bottle and can be applied by brush or with an applicator, also available from Gator Paint Masks. The glue dries clear in 24 hours.

While the glue isn’t as good as dedicated modeling glues at gluing plastic to plastic it’s fantastic when gluing PE to plastic or other PE. Most of my experience with it has been for gluing tiny PE parts for 1/700 ships.

I find that CA’s still better when you have to glue something fast such as small poles that could fall over, but for everything else it works great. The glue gives you more time to position small parts, doesn’t dry in globs like some of the thicker CA glues, nor does it run all over the place like the thinner ones. Also once dry it holds tight. I can actually pick up a 1/700 destroyer escort by the radar glued to the top of its mast.

I have never tried the glue with resin so I really don’t know how that would work.

Gator Grip appears to have a long shelf life as I’ve had my bottle for almost a year and am still using it.

I do know that the glue should not be kept in the cold. It can freeze which will cause it to separate and no longer work. While during the colder months Kenny does add some insulating to the packages I would personally still advise those of you in the more frozen areas up here to avoid ordering it in the dead of winter.

Over all the glue works great for what it was made for and has reduced the amount of CA glue I use.
